Understanding the 2012 Result Data

A pass rate and a GPA-5 count measure different aspects of performance. The pass rate shows the proportion of examinees who met the minimum requirements, while the GPA-5 count shows how many students reached the highest overall grade point average.

For board comparison, both percentages and absolute figures are useful. This archive therefore keeps both totals and percentages wherever comparable data are available.

Source policy: National headline figures are recorded separately from detailed board analytics. The board-level table uses collected Result Analytics reports where available, supplemented by contemporaneous news coverage where a board's own analytics report was not located in the collected dataset.
